Mi Casa ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application for iOS and Android that helps homeowners, renters, and property managers document and manage their home inventory. Mi Casa is operated by Domo Systems.

🏠 2. Your Home Data — Stays On Your Device
All home inventory data you enter into Mi Casa — including room information, item records, appliance details, dimensions, paint colors, serial numbers, warranty information, and maintenance history — is stored exclusively on your device using local storage (SQLite and AsyncStorage).
We do not transmit, upload, collect, or store your home inventory data on any server. Your home data never leaves your device.
You may optionally enable backup of your data to your personal iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android) account. This backup goes directly to your own cloud storage account — not to Mi Casa's servers. We have no access to your backup data.
📸 3. Photos and Camera Use
Mi Casa may request access to your camera to scan appliances, warranty cards, product labels, and other items. When you take a photo inside the app:
- The photo is sent to an AI vision service to extract relevant information (model numbers, serial numbers, warranty details, etc.)
- The extracted text data is stored locally on your device
- The original photo is immediately and permanently discarded after extraction
- Photos are never stored on our servers, never added to your device's photo library, and never retained in any form
We never store, transmit, or retain photos beyond the instant of processing.
🤖 4. AI Services
Mi Casa uses artificial intelligence (Claude by Anthropic) to power conversational room intake, item identification, and photo scanning. When you interact with AI features:
- Your text descriptions of rooms and items are sent to the AI service to generate structured records
- Photo data for scanning is sent to the AI service and immediately discarded after processing
- AI requests contain only home-related content — we never send your name, address, or personally identifiable information to the AI service
- Conversations and raw input text are discarded after processing and are not retained
The AI service is governed by its own privacy policy (Anthropic's usage policy). We use it solely to process home inventory information on your behalf.
🔗 5. Affiliate Links
Mi Casa includes affiliate links to third-party retailers including Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, Blinds.com, and others. When you tap a product link:
- You are directed to the retailer's website or app
- If you make a purchase, Mi Casa may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you
- We only recommend products relevant to what you have logged in the app
- Retailers have their own privacy policies that govern your interaction with their sites

📊 6. Anonymous Aggregate Data (Opt-Out Available)
By default, Mi Casa may collect anonymous, aggregated, zip-code-level data about home system types and maintenance patterns. This helps us improve the app and negotiate better product deals for Mi Casa users. This data:
- Is aggregated at the zip code level only — never at the street, address, or individual home level
- Contains no personally identifiable information
- Contains no information that could identify you or your property
- Is used to improve the app and to negotiate better product deals for Mi Casa users
- Is never sold in a form that identifies individuals or properties
For example — knowing that 60% of Mi Casa users in a zip code have a pool helps us find better pool supply deals for everyone. We never share anything tied to your address, your name, or anything that identifies you or your home.
This data sharing is disclosed at onboarding and you can turn it off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Anonymous Data Sharing. Opting out stops all aggregate data collection immediately.
🐞 7. Error Reporting
Mi Casa uses Sentry (free tier) for anonymous crash and error reporting. Error reports contain:
- Device type and operating system version
- App version number
- Anonymous error stack traces
Error reports never contain home inventory data, room contents, item details, personal information, or any identifying information about you or your property.
🔔 8. Push Notifications
Mi Casa may request permission to send you push notifications for maintenance reminders (such as AC filter replacements, smoke detector battery checks, and service appointments). All reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to or processed by our servers.
You can disable notifications at any time in your device's system settings or in Mi Casa's Settings screen.
👶 9. Children's Privacy
Mi Casa is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
🔄 10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will provide notice within the app. Your continued use of Mi Casa after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
